Who can take part & do you have to raise sponsorship?

The event is open to runners and walkers of all ages. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

£10  fee for adults and children over 16 ( includes parking, refreshment on route, certificate for all)  under 16 free.

We request sponsorship/donation please. Sponsorship can be raised online using the Just giving link on your registration confirmation email . Sponsorship raised offline can be paid in on the day.

Organiser’s notes:

The  routes spectacular views on the ridgeway, will keep your mind on the scenery and not your weary legs.

This 10K route (approx. 6.75 miles) has a bit of everything. From the Springhead pub the route takes you along the valley below the ridgeway into the lovely village of Osmington. Heading through the village you leave it on the eastern side taking the bridleway on a steady gradient uphill to Pixon barn above Poxwell.

From here you head back towards Sutton Poyntz along the ridgeway the highest point being 158 metres at East hill and it is on this part of the route that you will be rewarded with some fantastic views of the Jurrassic coast.

Just before reaching coombe valley road the route takes you down hill past Chalbury hill fort back into the village of Sutton Poyntz and finishing the Springhead. The Springhead is giving a 10% discount on breakfasts and lunches

Refreshments
Water point set at regular distances round the route, however you will need to bring a refillable drinks cup/ container.  It is recommended that 500ml fluids are carried throughout the event.

Prizes.

First individuals, first family will receive a local attraction voucher or other .

First dog back (with owner attached) will receive a voucher to spend at the Pet Experience.

All participants will be handed a certificate.

Safety

Marshals will be present on the route. Any participant wishing to retire must inform a marshal who will arrange free transport back to the finish. Marshalling cover supplied by Dorset Search and Rescue.

Preperation to take part

It is recommended that a certain amount of training be done prior to the event. It is your responsibility to make sure that you are of reasonable fitness.
